Steps were taken to remove lead paint

Lead paint removal is a necessary but potentially dangerous process. If you have lead paint in your home, it’s important to hire a professional lead paint removal specialist like PCAM Services – Emergency Restoration Service to safely remove it. Here are the steps taken to remove lead paint:

    Step 1: Assess the situation

The first step is to assess and inspect the lead paint. Our team will look at the type of paint, the age of the paint, the condition of the paint, and the area that needs to be painted.

    Step 2: Prepare the area

The next step is to prepare the area for lead paint removal. This includes removing all furniture and other items from the area and covering the floor with a tarp or other protective material.

    Step 3: Lead Removal

Once lead paint has been assessed and prepared, the next step is to remove it. The most common methods for removing lead paint include scraping, Industrial Vacuuming, high-Pressure Water Jetting, and using a chemical stripper.

    Step 4: Containment

The fourth step is to create a containment area. This is done by sealing off the area with plastic sheeting and setting up negative air pressure to prevent lead dust from spreading.

There are a few different containment methods that are used:

Misting: A fine mist is sprayed over the work area to keep the lead dust down

Ventilation: Exhaust fans are set up to ventilate the area and remove any fumes

Enclosing: A temporary seal is created around the work area to prevent the spread of lead dust

    Step 5: Proper Clean Up

After the lead paint has been removed, all the removal equipment and materials need to be cleaned and disposed of properly.

This includes all the tools used during the removal process, such as sanders, scrapers, putty knives, and brushes. Our team will also need to clean the floors and walls where the paint was removed. In order to avoid spreading any lead dust, they will need to use a wet vacuum or a mop and bucket to clean up the mess.

In conclusion, lead paint removal is necessary to protect yourself and your family from lead poisoning. While many do-it-yourself lead paint removal kits are available, it is best to contact a professional lead paint removal company like PCAM Services to ensure the job is done correctly.

We had some water damage down in our basement due to a recent rain and a blocked drain. It backed up into our home and ruined the carpet and drywall. As a result, we need the carpet replaced even after having the carpet cleaning done it wasn't enough. PCAM came and replaced the carpet and did some... drywall repair. It looks awesome! Thank you guys.read more

PCAM has been my go to company for all my repair, remediation and construction needs. As a property manager, they do the three things I value most. They are super responsive, I can call 24/7. They are great at communicating. I know what is going on and when. They also take the time to... educate and answer my questions. Lastly, they are reasonably priced and transparent about what you are paying for. The bonus is they employ really nice people who care about what they do. I would give 10 stars if possible.read more

I met Corey and his team at PCAM Services this Spring after experiencing some flooding in my condo one Sunday morning. He came in and surveyed the damage (which was limited, fortunately) and also identified other damage done due to a leaky roof around a door frame. After the plumbers were called... and the original problem was fixed, he and his team were available to begin repairs on my ceiling and door frame. I felt comfortable leaving members of his team to work alone in my home for several weeks while I was at work and even out of town. They were trustworthy (as a single woman, that’s important) and communicated with me via text and/or phone calls at the end of each day about what needed to be done next. I’m very pleased with the results of their work, as are others who have worked with PCAM on similar (but more extensive) projects in our neighborhood. Corey and his team arrived on time each morning, were professional and respected my home and the belongings in it. They are knowledgeable about the construction process and bring many years of experience to the job, having recently relocated to Boise from Seattle. I wouldn’t hesitate to call Corey and PCAM again for any repairs I might need to have done around my home.read more

A water leak from the condo above ours caused considerable damage in our home. PCAM was quick to respond and dry out the water. Then came the repairs to ceilings and walls. They worked hard to do the removal and repairs. Jill oversaw the work, and Randy did most of the work. Both were... friendly, helpful, and professional. Floors were damaged also, and the company arranged for a flooring company to repair and upgrade the floor. We have been very pleased with the quality of the work and of the staff of PCAM. We would highly recommend this company.read more
